  • Overview:
Recruiting trustees is one of the most important volunteer engagement tasks a charity will do — yet nearly 60% of charities report difficulties filling board roles, and trustees remain unrepresentative of the communities they serve. Just 6% are from minoritised ethnic backgrounds, and only 8% are under the age of 50. At the same time, over 70% of people say they would consider becoming a trustee if asked in the right way.

This session takes a fresh look at how to find, engage, and recruit great trustees using the principles of volunteer recruitment and marketing. It’s designed to help you move beyond word-of-mouth and default approaches, and build a more open, strategic, and successful recruitment process.
